Oxford-Leiden Link /

In 1946 Oxford and Leiden became twin cities as part of the rehabilitation of Europe after the Second World War, linked because of their status as university cities. The Link gives different groups of people a chance to exchange, often staying in each other's homes to give a true experience of British/Dutch life. The main exchanges are in May and November, when a group from one city takes part in the Remembrance Day parade of the other respectively. Groups have taken part in a wide range of cultural and sporting activities over the years and have made lasting friendships.

Peen en Ui combines Art and Cultural events, connecting strong ideas to creative potential in Leiden and links organisations and makers to each other. Peen en Ui is the connecting factor in a creative city and is now stepping outside Leiden to connect creative potential and makers from Leiden to Oxford.
